Quinn Bachand and the Brishen Ensemble bridge gaps between early Western Swing, Gypsy Jazz, Fiddle and Early Pop. They play in a space where virtuosity meets vibe, leaving you with a sense of jubilance and nostalgia. This is a CD Release Concert  The new recording, Blue Verdun,  channels the genius of Charlie Christian & Benny Goodman while blurring the lines between traditional jazz, latter day pop and western swing. A fresh perspective on the romance of another era, you’ll hear hints of Bobby Vinton’s velvet croon and the sweeping elements of Bob Wills’ country swing while robust memories of Brenda Lee’s pop-country and the doo-wop of the Ink Spots take a spirited romp with the likes of Joe Venuti and Django Reinhardt. Quinn Bachand is effortlessly adept at evoking an era’s mood through a myriad of instruments, jumping from acoustic guitar to bouzouki, Hammond B3 to banjo, and fiddle to percussion at will, justifying the accolades of fans and peers alike.
Quinn played The Loft last July with sister Qristina and blew the room away. Come and be amazed.
