Sandi began sculpting in 1995 and has competed in British Columbia, Ontario, Florida and Texas. Sandi’s accomplishments include placing 1st in Sauble Beach Ontario in 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.
Additions to her list of accomplishments include placing first in the amateur division in Fort Myers Beach, Florida and placing 2nd in the Texas State Championship in the same year. When Sandi is not on the beach, she has a passion to teach children the technique of sand building through her 90 minute “Sandi Castle Presentations”.

Big Wave Dave Downs from New Haven, Michigan builds castles, sandcastles that is. A skill that he perfected on the beaches of South Padre Isalnd, Texas under the tutelage of two well-known Master Sand Sculptors Amazin/E Walter and Sandy Feet Wierenga. In fact, in 2000, Big Wave Dave with Sandy’s dad, Don Wierenga won the Sand Castle Days Texas State Championship on South Padre Island Texas.
For the past seven years, Big Wave Dave has built on most of the beaches in Michigan. He builds sandcastles each year at the Great Lakes Kite Festival in Grant Haven to benefit the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan and has also made an appearance on Extreme Makeover, Home Edition. www.bigwavesanta.com |

Always having an interest in art, Nick began his career as a clay sculptor for public events. With the interest of attracting an audience and seeing the look of excitement in their eyes, Nick continued his dream of sculpting and took it to the next level. Nick entered his first sand sculpting contest in Sauble Beach, Ontario, in 1999 and won 1st place. Since this first win, Nick has continued to amaze his audience and clients. |

Finding her hidden talent during a visit to Sauble Beach, Ontario Tanya has continued to enter contests and takes every opportunity to practices on local Ontario beaches. As Tanya states “ I would love every opportunity to sculpt and make sand come alive”. Tanya is one of Cobourg’s favourite Master sculptors – welcome back for a second year! |

Drawing from an early age, Harry went on to architectural and interior design work for some of the best firms in Montreal. After working in this field for over 20 years sculpture became an interesting development and Harry is always looking for new mediums to try something different including wood, metals and sand. He has been working with sand for more than 10 years and has won many masters competitions throughout Ontario including Sauble Beach in 2007. Many weekends you can find him working on Sandbanks Provincial Park or Cobourg’s own Victoria Beach. |
