Cobourg
Ontario's Feel Good Town
The Best Beach Around
Hot and bothered? You need to escape to Cobourg for some beach therapy. Hands down, the Cobourg beach is a slice of paradise on Lake Ontario – fluffy white sand, clear blue water lapping the shore, birds singing, children laughing. Pinch me, please!
Stake out your spot with a lawn chair and umbrella, and settle in. You’ll want to spend the day or longer, not just soaking up the feel-good vitamin D, but for exploring, sampling and shopping.
Swim, stroll along the boardwalk with your honey or your dog. There’s picnic tables by shady trees in nearby Victoria Park for spreading out a checkered table cloth and kicking a soccer ball.
On some evenings, the park’s bandshell is centre stage for outdoor movies, theatre and performances by the Concert Band of Cobourg, so pack your lawn chairs.
The beauty of Cobourg is location, location, location. Within a short walk of the beach and Victoria Park, you can visit Cobourg’s heritage downtown, shops and restaurants, all without a car, making this an eco-friendly destination. It’s like a resort-style setting right here in friendly, small-town Ontario.
