Cobourg
Ontario's Feel Good Town
Festivals
Mark your calendars for year-round events
A small town can throw a big party, no doubt about it.
If you haven't been here before, be prepared to be impressed and bring your party hat!
Dogs love fashion, too, right? Cobourg has a doggie fashion parade during the summer when the downtown strip becomes a pedestrian walkway for clowns and carnival food, retail therapy and entertainment. There's a summer busker festival with magicians and acrobats, a traditional Scottish pipe band marching along the main street and breathtaking fireworks over the harbour for Canada Day celebrations. Much to see and much to do, all year round.
Here's a peek at what's to come:
Christmas Magic
There's nothing quite like Christmas in the country. The snow seems whiter, the air is crisp and spirits high. Cobourg's Christmas Magic festival lights up the night as thousands of Christmas lights decorate the trees of Victoria Park from mid-November to January. Join the carolling for the festival's opening walk from Victoria Hall to Victoria Park. A wonderful way to mark the giving season.
Cobourg Winter Festival
Come February, the winter is still in full force, so why not get outside for some wintry fun? No need to hole up indoors during the Cobourg Winter Festival. There are ice sculpture and lumberjack demonstrations, games and outdoor skating. Follow it up with hot chocolate or a hot toddy at a cafe - goodbye winter blues.
