Cobourg, Ontario is a picturesque town located on the east coast of Lake Ontario. It is nestled between Port Hope and Belleville and was founded by United Loyalists in 1798. The Otonabee River which is a short walk from downtown Cobourg provides beautiful vistas of the river and also a scenic spot for a picnic. You can take a walk or bike ride along the river from downtown or one of the various access points along Highway 401 or Highway 2. 

 

Cobourg has several other rivers that are easily accessible including Ostrander Creek, Silver Creek, and West River. All these offer excellent views and walks throughout their length.
